Chilhowee R-IV would like to thank the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Johnson County Fire Protection District (Chilhowee Station), Johnson County Ambulance District, Life Flight Eagle, the Johnson County Coroner's Office, and Dawn Keenan for hosting our mock accident today at the school. They put this on yearly for us the day before prom to educate our 9th-12th grade students about the tragedy of car crashes and to reinforce the importance of seat belts, no cell phones while driving, and what happens when people drive intoxicated.

Important information regarding sports physicals. Missouri, in conjunction with MSHSAA, has changed the procedures for documenting, filing, and managing sports physicals due to HIPAA concerns. There are new forms that must be used with specific instructions on the top of each form that must be completed to be valid. The previous versions will no longer be accepted. However, since physicals are valid for two years, your students 2022 physical will remain valid until 2024 with no action required except the annual MSHSAA preparticipation requirement. From this point forward only the last page (5th page) of the new forms will be returned to school and kept on file. The remaining forms will be filed at your doctor's office. Use the link for the new forms, school website, or pick one up at the front office.

Yesterday we had a great visit with Susie from Country Crossroads. She brought her Corgi Coco along and the students enjoyed. Susie talked to 7th-12th graders about how to talk to their friends when their friends are struggling and coping skills for their bad days. It was a great visit and Susie asked that I share the following information with parents as well.
