Due to the anticipated inclement weather on Thursday and Friday (cold temperatures with below zero wind chill) and the increased absence of staff and students due to COVID and other health-related illnesses, there will be NO SCHOOL (including NO AMI) on Thursday AND Friday (January 20-21, 2022).

Chilhowee School will resume classes tomorrow (Tuesday, January 18th) as originally scheduled. The district still has a large number of staff members out. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed. In the meantime, please have a plan for your family in case we reach the level of not having enough staff. Due to a high number of staff being out and a lack of substitute teachers; Chilhowee School will utilize an Alternative Means of Instruction (AMI) day tomorrow, Friday, January 14th. The Boys tournament bracket has changed due to Ballard dropping out due to low number of players. Of note for Thursday, 1/13, Chilhowee Indians vs Appleton City Bulldogs will now start at 5:00PM. The Chilhowee R-IV School District is eager to hire substitutes. Individuals with a valid Missouri teaching certificate who wishes to substitute teach in a school district are no longer required by DESE to apply for a substitute certificate.
If you do not have a Missouri teaching certificate, you can complete online training to receive your certificate. Our school district will reimburse fingerprinting fees when an approved substitute presents a receipt to the District Office.
