We’re excited to welcome Toby, the newest member of our school family! Toby will be a wonderful addition to our building, helping to create a positive, supportive atmosphere for both students and staff. Toby’s handler is Mrs. Murphy, and he’ll be joining her at school a couple of days each week. Toby is here to bring comfort, connection, and cheer to our students. Toby will visit wherever he is needed; that could be classrooms, the library, the hallways, or the counselor's office. In the coming weeks, Mrs. Murphy will visit classrooms with Toby to introduce him and help students learn how to interact with him safely and respectfully. We can't wait to see the smiles Toby brings and the positive impact he’ll have on our school community! Keep an eye out for fun updates and heartwarming moments as Toby settles into his new role.

The preschoolers have been learning about life cycles. The one they are learning about now is the plant life cycle , so they are planting seeds to watch the life cycle happen. So fun!

The 8th grade science students were back in the lab on April 2nd having fun creating colorful swirls in milk. The objective of the lesson ("Milk Rainbow") was to demonstrate the property of surface tension and the effect that soap, a surfactant, has on the surface tension of milk. When a drop of liquid dish soap (on a cotton swab) is added to milk, the surface tension of the milk is reduced. As this occurs, the fat (butterfat) and protein particles in the milk can move more freely and easily. This action can be seen as the food coloring swirls through the milk. CONTENT TOPICS: Scientific inquiry; states of matter; properties of matter; attractive forces (surface tension); and mixtures (such as emulsions).
