After reviewing the Stay-at-Home Public Health Emergency Order from Johnson County, we ask that if their's something essential that you need from the school building, please call the school to set an appointment first. as our office hours will be limited.

To help save driving for families, lunch will be served on Monday and Thursday of each week. Monday 3/30 meals will be handed out for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Thursday 4/2 meals will be handed out for Thursday, Friday, and back snack for the weekend. Thanks for your patience during these changes.

With the recent Emergency Declaration from Johnson County and the declarations in the KC Metro, the District has moved the school closure date to April 24, 2020. The current plan is for students to return on April 27, 2020. The district will be sending out a learning plan shortly for families and students.

To clarify yesterday’s post: Walk up students/kids 18 and under will also be served at the cafeteria doors. An area will be setup outside. We ask that social distancing practices be followed by walk up groups.

March 18, 2020 With the closure of school through April 3, 2020, the district will provide FREE lunches and breakfasts for students 18 and under. The district will make available sack lunches with breakfast starting Monday March 23, 2020. Meals can be picked up at the cafeteria starting at 11:00 am with service stopping at 12:00 pm. The meals will be a sack lunch item and a breakfast item for the next day. There will be no options available, only the sacked lunch/breakfast items. The following procedures will be followed: 1. Cars can pull into the parking lot entrance and drive up to the designated area by the cafeteria to get the meals. 2. The bus lane will be utilized as an exit only from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. 3. The meals are only available for students, and the students will have to be present to receive a meal. 4. The Harvester’s back snack items will be available for pickup as well on Friday March 27th and April 3rd. The district hopes to resume normal operations on April 6, 2020. IF, the school remains closed beyond the 6th, lunch procedures will remain in effect until further notice.

The district continues to monitor the COVID-19 news and information from the CDC and other organizations. The following links contain the most current information from the CDC https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and the Missouri Department of Health https://health.mo.gov/living/healthcondiseases/communicable/novel-coronavirus/ The following recommendations will be followed at the school and are encouraged for families at home: 1. Staff and students should stay home when they are sick; 2. Teach students to cover their coughs and sneezes with tissues, or to cough or sneeze into their inner elbow; 3. Practice good hand washing with soap and water as often as possible, and if soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers; 4. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in classrooms. Any further updates or changes will be posted as necessary. Questions about the district response can be directed to the superintendent's office.

Mark your calendars.... PTO will be hosting a rummage and vendor sale in the school gym on March 28th from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be many items for sell and they will be priced to move. We will have a spaghetti dinner from 11:00-2:00. From 1:00-2:00 come fill a bag for $1. We will also have Chilhowee T-shirts for sale. Hope to see you there and if you are a vendor contact the number on the flyer to set up a table.

Reminder, All students participating in Spring Sports (Track and Field) are required to have a physical on file before participating in practices/contests. If using a 2018 physical, 2019 MSHSAA Pre-Participation Forms are still required prior to participation. All forms can be found on MSHSAA website or are available at school.
