1/20, Varsity Basketball travels to Bunceton tonight. Chilhowee Indians vs Bunceton Dragons, games start at 6:00PM. Bus departs at 3:45PM.

Due to the anticipated inclement weather on Thursday and Friday (cold temperatures with below zero wind chill) and the increased absence of staff and students due to COVID and other health-related illnesses, there will be NO SCHOOL (including NO AMI) on Thursday AND Friday (January 20-21, 2022).

Chilhowee School will resume classes tomorrow (Tuesday, January 18th) as originally scheduled. The district still has a large number of staff members out. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed. In the meantime, please have a plan for your family in case we reach the level of not having enough staff. Due to a high number of staff being out and a lack of substitute teachers; Chilhowee School will utilize an Alternative Means of Instruction (AMI) day tomorrow, Friday, January 14th. The school building will be closed, but all students will have learning activities to complete. Please view the link below for details:

Chilhowee Families; The district has a large number of staff members out and our substitute pool is running short. While we are not in a situation that we need to cancel school due to a staffing emergency at this moment, please have a plan for your family in case it would come to this. Thank you
On Monday, January 17th, there will be no school and no learning club for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. School will resume on Tuesday, January 18th.
The Boys tournament bracket has changed due to Ballard dropping out due to low number of players. Of note for Thursday, 1/13, Chilhowee Indians vs Appleton City Bulldogs will now start at 5:00PM. Bus departs at 3:15PM. Also, notice the Boys 7th/8th place bracket game has been canceled for Jan 14th. See link from updated bracket.

The Chilhowee R-IV School District is eager to hire substitutes. Individuals with a valid Missouri teaching certificate who wishes to substitute teach in a school district are no longer required by DESE to apply for a substitute certificate.
If you do not have a Missouri teaching certificate, you can complete online training to receive your certificate. Our school district will reimburse fingerprinting fees when an approved substitute presents a receipt to the District Office.
