7th grade Science and 9th grade Biology recently conducted a photosynthesis lab using leaf disks from spinach leaves. 9th-grade Biology students are shown here experimenting.
The students vacuumed the air out of the leaf disks with a syringe and replaced it with a solution, which caused them to sink. As photosynthesis proceeds, oxygen is released into the interior of the leaf, changing its buoyancy and causing the leaf disks to rise. The students recorded the number of disks floating vs. minutes to determine the rate of photosynthesis.
🎃📚 The library has been transformed into a magical Storybook Pumpkin Patch! Our elementary students got creative and brought their favorite book characters to life in pumpkin form! 🍂✨ Check out their amazing creations! 🎨📖
