Nearly three-quarters of the earth is made up of water, and about two-thirds of our bodies are made up of water. Water is essential for life and has important and unique properties. Yesterday, students in 8th-grade Science, Physical Science, and Environmental Science did a fun lab investigating the many different properties of water. There were eight different lab stations to investigate.
Two students in Physical Science are shown here preparing to do the experiments. In one picture, they are seeing if they can get paper clips to float on the surface of water, demonstrating the property of water's "high surface tension."
