Maddie Knight of Chilhowee School - Regional Teacher of the Year Finalist
Congratulations to Maddie Knight, Regional Teacher of the Year Finalist. Ms. Knight is entering her third-year teaching kindergarten at Chilhowee. In 2022-23 she served as the kindergarten and first grade teacher with the assistance of Mrs. Jackie Geisler. This upcoming school year she will return to teach kindergarten. Ms. Knight goes the extra mile to teach her students. She is always in the building early and often leaves late. She can frequently be seen working in her classroom during the summer months as well. Ms. Knight has a sincere passion for teaching and guiding her 'new to school' students. She is one of the best at building a strong foundation for our kindergarten students. Ms. Knight also steps up as a teacher leader in the district. She serves as the CCTA president, cheer coach, track coach, and has helped the district start a cross country program for 2023-24. She just finished her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Central Missouri and is now working on her master’s degree in School Administration.
