The Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS) released on August 20, 2019 a Health Advisory on severe lung disease cases associated with "Vaping". The cases have been reported in 14 states between June 28, 2019 and August 17, 2019.  The long term risks of vaping are unknown, but a recent study showed that inhalation of harmful chemicals through "vaping" can cause irreversible lung damage and lung disease.

The school has seen and heard of an increase of students "vaping" before, during, and after school.  The school will continue to handle the vaping incidents if they occur, but will work on educating all students and parents of the risks of "vaping".

The Advisory will continue to be updated by the DHSS as new information becomes available.  The updated Advisory can be found at the following web address: http://www.health.mo.gov.
