Missouri RYLA Academy

Warrensburg Early-Bird Rotary Club RYLA Recommendation

The Early-Bird Rotary Club of Warrensburg will sponsor up to two students for the 2019 Missouri RYLA Academy.

We are seeking recommendations and input from high school counselors for students who have a heart for service and will be sophomores or juniors for the 2019-2020 school year. Please note that there is not a GPA requirement for Missouri RYLA Academy. The Missouri RYLA Academy is a 4-day, 3-night training program for high school sophomores and juniors who exhibit a desire for community service. Developed by some of Missouri’s top professional educators, the curriculum is designed to identify and enhance the qualities of Servant Leadership for each participant, train them on how to successfully implement a service project, and inspire them to live a lifetime of “Service Above Self.” In addition, participants are introduced to all the youth programs and values Rotary has to offer.

Early-Bird Rotary Club of Warrensburg is looking for viable candidates to potentially sponsor as participants to attend one of two of the following academy sessions during the summer of 2019 at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri.

In 2019, the two academy sessions of MO RYLA will be the following dates:

 Session 1: Sunday, June 23rd thru Wednesday, June 26th

 Session 2: Sunday, July 7th thru Wednesday, July 10th

The primary goal of MO RYLA is to teach students how to develop leadership skills, as well as learn to develop a quality service project, following the Rotarian core values. Recommended students should have hearts and minds focused on service, a desire to attend MO RYLA, a willingness to participate fully, and come home from the Academy ready to serve.

I am able to recommend two students from our district to attend this academy. Please have your student contact me if they are interested in attending ASAP. The deadline for my recommendation is February 25th
