The Board met Wednesday night 7/17/2019 for the monthly meeting.  The meeting handled the regular scheduled business of the district.  

The board heard the financial report from Mr. Marnholtz for the month of June which closed out the fiscal year.  The district started the month with $1,034,397.28.  The district received $153,646.57 while expending $289.692.01.  The district closed out the fiscal year with $898,351.84.  The building project was the largest expense for the district with $985,741 being spent out of the capital projects fund.  

The new business for the month included setting the tax rate hearing time and location.  The board will hold a public hearing on the anticipated tax rate prior to the meeting on August 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the conference room.  The finalized assessed valuation for the district will be share and the anticipated revenues from the tax rate.  

The board heard from Mr. Marnholtz on the Bid from Thrive Nutrition Services for the management of the district food services.  After hearing the information and discussing concerns, the board voted to approve Thrive as the district food service management company.  Thrive will move forward with planning the food service for the district starting in August.  

The board approved the eligibility criteria for free/reduced lunch meals.  The application packets will be made available in August for families.  The board set the prices for breakfast and lunch.  The board approved a $.15 increase for lunch prices for students, which is the required amount to meet the federal requirements.  The new prices for lunch are: $2.75 (HS lunch), $2.50 (elem lunch), and $1.85 for student breakfasts.

The board updated two policies that were required to align with changes to the USDA non-discrimination requirements for food services.  The policies approved were AC related to discrimination and harassment and EF which covers food service management.  Copies of the Board of Education Policies can be viewed at the District Office.  

The board held an executive session after the regular meeting to discuss legal and personnel issues.  

The next regular meeting will occur immediately following the tax rate hearing on August 21, 2019 in the conference room.
